Do not destroy the beauty of the beachfront. It is a recreational hub for the residents of Cape Town.

It will be a huge shame if any Development goes ahead. This really is one place where all SA's can be in a leisurely manner. I run there all the time.
    Thanks

We visit the promenade from time to time, since I have a friend who lives in Beach Road. It's lovely, and it would be a shame if it were to disappear!

This is one of the best know areas where people can go and have a jog or a walk and I'd hate to see the area being turned into a hotel...

As the ex Sea Point City Improvement District Manager (5 yrs) I find this a travesty of justice. Sea Point has come from being a down trodden suburb to a great place to live, work and play.So many people have done so much to rid Sea Point of drugs, places of ill repute and urban decay, to let this happen would be criminal.
Dave CollinsSigned on: Fri 09 May 2008 07:23:33 UTC
One of the joys of coming to CPT is to walk along Sea Point. This is a precious open space.
Sean PhillipsSigned on: Thu 08 May 2008 20:02:13 UTC
I think it would be a disgrace if the development was allowed to go ahead. Every year when we come down to Cape Town we run along that strip. Don't ruin Sea Point!!!
Sarojini NAIDOOSigned on: Thu 08 May 2008 18:36:09 UTC
No, please do not spoil this beautiful promenade, a rare one in South Africa. Please prerserve it.
James DiamondSigned on: Thu 08 May 2008 17:09:40 UTC
Development is totally unnecessary. This is like Rondebosch Common. It belongs to all the citizens and not greedy developers.

This is public open space, it can not be developed!!!

The Sea Point promenade is exquisite, for locals and tourists alike, and should NOT be spoilt or destroyed, in any way.

First of all this action would destroy the view of all who have invested millions into appartments and flats across from the Promenade. Second, the Promenade is itself is a drawing card for millions of visitors each year...
we don't need another shopping centre, etc.

We need to protect our 'open' spaces and the Beach Promenade is a very special and beautiful open space.

Few will benefit from such a development. Please leave us some open spaces to enjoy the city.
Karlien de GoedeSigned on: Wed 07 May 2008 11:19:01 UTC
The promenade is the only open space in and around Cape Town I can use without feeling unsafe. Everywhere else you are in danger.
Please don't take this away from the citizens of Cape Town. In the slow months when tourists are not in town, we still are. Start looking after us for a change!
TasneemSigned on: Wed 07 May 2008 11:18:32 UTC
Sea Point Pavilion is our favourit spot in summer and the park in Sea Point is a favourite spot for our family on Sunday afternoons. Please do not dammage it with hotels and shops. Its beautiful as it is.

Beautifull natural public areas must remain - the city is rapidly losing these areas
