| Ricardo Nichols | Signed on: Wed 09 Apr 2008 17:40:13 UTC It will be sad to know that there will be no more walks with my family along the Promenade. That my partner has no where to go and sit during the day with our new baby. She so enjoys the pool as she feels very safe there. Does not have to worry about anything really. We beseech you to please not take this little bit of open space away from us. Where would we go? |
| |
| Chantelle February | Signed on: Wed 09 Apr 2008 17:36:23 UTC I cannot stress how important it is for me to have the open space to walk during the day and now even more so with my baby daughter. It is not very often that we have the best of both worlds, the Pavillion to me is a very safe and secure enviroment where we are able to relax and not worry about our personal belongings and most importantly our children are safe too. We have spent some delightful afternoons at the pool since moving to Sea Point almost 16 years ago. I would not like to see what little public space we already have that is clean and well maintained be taken away for money... The promenade is like my garden, having a flat does not allow for lots of land space. Please do not take this away from us. Thank you Chantelle |

| Susanne Noll | Signed on: Wed 09 Apr 2008 12:43:18 UTC Let the beachfront be for all. There is anyway so little space to walk - specifically a stretch straight way where even elderly people can stroll wothout too much effort. |

| Megan Freidberg | Signed on: Wed 09 Apr 2008 12:16:45 UTC It would be a complete an utter degradation for the permittance of developmnent along the Promenade, people use this area as a form of exercise, recreation and just the overall beautiful surroundings. To develop it and rob people of this heritage site would not only be a disgrace, but a shameful act of selfishness. We are robbed of so many rights in this country, lets try and keep something sacred! |

| Athol Brown | Signed on: Wed 09 Apr 2008 09:11:37 UTC I grew up in Sea Point and the pavilion was a wonderful playground for kids -- reserved then for so-called "whites" of course. I have recently been visiting the beach front / pavilion area two or three times a week and find it marvellous that all the people of this country are now using this facility. Strange that the City and Provincial politicians wish to revert to a colour-based use of these facilities. Are we really a country where the colour of your money is all that counts? Come on Mayor Zille show us what you are made of! |

| Greg Wright | Signed on: Tue 08 Apr 2008 23:47:03 UTC What possible reason could there be for a shopping center on the sea shore? Why would anyone prefer to see another building instead of a sea view? The sea shore should belong to the public for all to enjoy the natural beauty. If we want to shop, there is plenty of space to go already, and also inland space to build if necessary. |

| Chris INSKIP | Signed on: Tue 08 Apr 2008 22:38:35 UTC I value the Sea Point promenade, in fact the whole Atlantic coast from Granger Bay to Cape Point, as an asset both for my own restoration and an attraction which can help bring visitors, and employment, to the Cape. |

| Sean Ryan | Signed on: Tue 08 Apr 2008 20:25:37 UTC I enjoyed many happy hours on the Promenade. It needs to be treasured as a resource for all the citizens of Cape town not just the developers & their cronies. |
