This cannot be allowed!!! We need open green space more than ever, for ALL to enjoy. Development is swallowing the city -- leave the promenade alone?!!

THE OPEN SPACE IS NEEDED FOR CAPE TOWN, OTHERWISE IT WILL BECOME SO OVERCROWDED AS OTHER CITIES IN THE WORLD

Do not destroy the little bit of nature/seafront we have left.
Oliver McDermottSigned on: Fri 01 Feb 2008 13:17:29 UTC
In short, this beautiful area should remain public for obvious reasons and any plans to rezone and therefore EXPLOIT it should be halted. End of story.

the sea point pavillion is an institution in cape town, it's a place where people of all cultures, shapes and sizes come together and share in the beauty of our city. it would be a shame to get rid of it!

Absolutley reprehensible to take this space away from the people and destroy our seafront
Teresa SnymanSigned on: Fri 01 Feb 2008 11:26:10 UTC
We so desperately need space to walk/run/play - what is happening to our society that it is ok to just remove the little bit of parkland that we have in CT

I make use of this area for jogging, walking and relaxing. I appreciate it because it is beautiful and one of the few racially mixed areas in cape town.

Do not turn 1 of the best scenery in the wolrd into an dreary concrete jungle

I walk along the promenade everyday and although I think it could be jacked up a bit I think it would be a very sad day if it is turned into a commercial zone with a hotel.
Louis MandelstamSigned on: Fri 01 Feb 2008 09:48:19 UTC
The sea front belongs to the public, and the public have made their wishes known by way of thousands of objections. QED.
Kathy AbelSigned on: Fri 01 Feb 2008 09:44:32 UTC
It would be a travesty if development of this beautiful public space is allowed.Cape Town has already been robbed of too much of it's character.

In spite of living in Rondebosch, we still make a lot of use of the area in question, for long, safe walks, admiring the beauty of the coast line. Leave it as it is, just make it look more beautiful - not with buildings.
Dean LewisSigned on: Fri 01 Feb 2008 08:48:20 UTC
Too many buildings with no green space leeds to a very sick city!!

The promenade MAKES our seaboard a delight to ourselves and our visitors.
It is also a wonderful health incentive and a place to replenish oneself spiritually.
Thank you for leaving it as it is!
