There are few places in Cape Town which allow such a broad mix of cultures and lifestyles to enjoy a varied risk of healthy activities. No matter culture, race, gender or sexual preference this area offers a place of enjoyment for everyone (as can be seen everyday). It is a safe and beautiful area for our rainbow nation to enjoy.
Jo McQueSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 17:33:47 UTC
It would be good if developers left at least some parts of Cape Town for people to enjoy.
Michael MorganSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 17:10:23 UTC
Nicolene JansenSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 16:50:06 UTC
With the horrible new stadium being build, it would be very wrong to take away more beautiful open space!!!!!
julie clarkeSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 16:47:01 UTC
Every famous city protects its open space and appreciates its value - this is a critical role of public servents and politicians. IF you cannot understand the fundamental principles of town planning get out of your office give up your position to someone who does
Cassie HughesSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 16:38:52 UTC
No shopping malls in Sea Point!!
NEVILLE JACKSONSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 16:38:51 UTC
WHOMEVER IS PLANNING THE DEVELOPMENT IS TRYING TO STEAL THE RIGHT TO REZONE FROM THE PEOPLE OF CAPE TOWN
Christo du ToitSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 16:33:36 UTC
    Unacceptable!
Deborah C SmithSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 16:31:04 UTC

Nesta ShorkendSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 16:03:26 UTC
I would like the Sea Point promenade to remain an open space and this accessible to all members of the public
JimmySigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 15:56:07 UTC
    I'm in, it's so important !
Carnita HendricksSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 15:41:39 UTC
running/walking along the promenade is one of the most beautiful things cape town has to offer-beautiful, manicured grounds to enjoy the sea and the city, where one feels safe (which is rare). apart from replacing some of my gym sessions in the summer months, it is a space where more overweight people who do not feel comfortable in gyms go to get a workout. take that away from them/us and you will be contributing to a more obese south african nation.

Dominique HazellSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 15:26:18 UTC
We don't need anymore shopping malls, let alone a highrise that's an eyesore!
Etienne de VilliersSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 15:25:37 UTC
    I support SEAFA

I am really feedup with all the developers taking advantage of almost all our scenic areas.
    STOP THEM IN THEIR TRACTS.

Melanie BlytheSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 15:16:56 UTC
I think it is terrible what private developers are doing to our public spaces. The government needs to stop selling off everything that we as a community collectively own in order to fill the pockets of a few. This must not happen!
    Craig Mason-JonesSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 15:16:51 UTC
Craig BlanckenbergSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 15:14:01 UTC
    Leave things be!
Developing a longstanding place like this that has been enjoyed by many for decades is just greed.

    Thank you

Public Space like this should not be stolen from the public.
Simone LazarusSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:38:44 UTC
    I think it is disgusting.

    Ilaria Chisin-LouwSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:33:06 UTC
Definitely no development to spoil the few beautiful sea front public spaces that are accessible to those who can't afford to live there!
Amy TertiensSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:28:07 UTC
    Stop the developers!
Trevor HowardSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:25:10 UTC
In other words, building can only take place when it is for the public. Take your dog for a walk there and eat an icecream then you would also want to keep it open for the public.

Trevor HowardSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:21:01 UTC
I sign this petition so that building must take place on the public open areas of Sea point
Adryon de VilliersSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:19:44 UTC
I object to the rezoning of the Seapoint Pavilion as it is one of my favourite running and yoga spots.
katherine GlendaySigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:19:10 UTC
NO to developers who take over the landscape and take away things that sustain a sense of community and deliver it into the hands of a few with money. Life becomes poorer and poorer with the gentrification.
Alison HughesSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:13:50 UTC
Lauren SternSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:02:21 UTC
I fully support this cause! It would be a travesty for them to over develop something that all benefits so many people.
Robyn SmithSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:02:20 UTC
Please keep the prommenade open for the public! It will be a regret of all our generations to come if you do not.
Juliane LemckeSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 14:01:24 UTC
Let not be destroyed what is an attraction to the area because of the greediness of some sticky hands
Brian CheesmanSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 13:59:43 UTC
public open spaces are designated areas where 'the people' (citizens) can enjoy whatever natural assets nature has to offer in those designated places - like beaches, mountains, river banks, etc. and soforth. Business & government greed must not be allowed to deplete the few areas left on this planet for humanity to enjoy. It undermines our birthrights! They've already destroyed our ozone layer, our artic & antartic - when will it stop?
Willemien de VillierSigned on: Wed 23 Jan 2008 13:59:05 UTC
No development should be allowed on this wonderful iconic space. It's vitally important to preserve and maintain all existing public places of relaxation.
