The sea-front belongs to all of us and not only to those who can afford to pay to visit it. Leave it alone. There is no need for this development.

It should remain an open site to be used by all as intendede for the enjoyment of all as a family recreation ground
Sidney SchonegevelSigned on: Mon 02 Mar 2009 12:24:13 UTC
Sea Point beach front is one of the few open recreational areas in the CBD where families can enjoy the outdoors and couples can walk at night. I am stongly against any development in this area. All that should be done is money spent to upkeep what we currently enjoy. This area belongs to the public and must stay this way.

Now is the time to approach Councillor J P Smith and ask him to declare for the voters, ratepayers and tax payers of our fair City.

I disagree with the proposed development on the Sea Point Beachfront Promenade. Doing so would prevent the residents of the area from enjoying it as they currently do. Seapoint is already a very built up area and people need this strip of land to escape from an already overdeveloped area. Developing this area would negatively effect the wellbeing of the Sea Point community.

I grew up in Sea Point and the Sea Point Beachfront Promenade was a place were we all walked, ran and met. It holds many incredible memories for many Capetonians and possibly for future generations too.

Hands Off the Pavillion!! The current Pavillion is a prime public space for both Capetonians and international visitors to relax and enjoy the ocean view. It should be declared a national heritage site so that nobody can touch it, now or in the future...

The last thing we need is a beach development in Cape Town that resembles the Spanish and French beachfronts.

yes - it is everyones right to be able to enjoy it .. I used to enjoy my evening runs along the promenade , so dont think its fair to keep it for a select few to enjoy

I walk my dogs along this Promenade every week. It\'s about the only safe open space to do so, given the muggings on the Mountain. Obviously I support this petition!!!

This will be another case of the rich get richer and the ordinary citizens lose out again. This is an area that has always been available to all and should remain that way. It is part of the Cape Town heritage.

before a concrete jungle similar to the old Building which was knocked down only a few years ago re occurs
