| Clea Relly | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:44:13 UTC The community needs more free public open spaces, not less. More walking and rollerblading, less consumption. |

| Maliza van Eeden | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:41:00 UTC The Sea Point promenade is one of the most joyous experiences Cape Town has to offer by bringing together all Capetowneans in the simple enjoyment of the ocean side. It represents the best of the new South Africa. There is so much exclusivity in Cape Town already - I would hate to see this development chipping away at the city's spirit. |

| Thembisa Cochrane | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:39:22 UTC How can we be working for equality on the one hand and creating unequal access behind our backs with the other? |
| |
| Brian Press | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:37:30 UTC I think this will be an absolute travesty if this development is allowed to go ahead. The open space of which there is so little left should be protected at all costs! |

| Keith Struthers | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:33:56 UTC There are enough shops in sea point to service the community, sea fronts throughout the world are ususally reserved as public open places for building community in an otherwise built up area. |

| Kelly Rosenthal | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:32:44 UTC This is one of the few spaces we have left in Cape Town that hasn't been taken over by sickeningly ostentatious displays of wealth and exclusion. Please let it stay the way it is, so we can have some memories of how our city used to be before it became the Dubai of SA. |

| Elizabeth O'Connell | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:22:01 UTC Sea Point has plenty of restuarants, gyms, hotels and shops already there is no need to develop a space that clearly people would prefer to keep as is. |
| |
| Jenna van Schoor | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:20:06 UTC Even though I stay in the suburbs I absoltuely love Sea Point and the promenade and would be devastated to see it destroyed by commercial development. With all the environmental changes that are going on in the world is it really that much to ask to preserve the beach front from even more resource draining developments? |
| |
| Tamar Kahn | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:12:28 UTC The Sea Point promenade is one of the few remaining places in Cape Town where everyone, rich or poor, can enjoy the beauty of the Alantic seaboard. Please don't turn it into yet another exclusive playground for the wealthy. |
| |
| nicole | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 17:01:18 UTC please dont take away the beauty of CT!!! we have over enough shopping malls just leave it as it is right nw |
| |
| Peter Andrianatos | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:50:30 UTC It should NOT be allowed! Where are the shoppers going to park, keep the shopping in Main Road, and the Malls, & allow people to enjoy the space and the freedom to walk / run on the promenade. For all ages, all races, both local and tourists Nationally & Internationally |

| Roxanne Connor | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:38:53 UTC Please do not build shopping centres on the Pavillion. |
| |
| Kate Nelson | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:33:11 UTC I disapprove of what is being planned. The Sea Point public space should be kept for the public. It is a beautiful area for the public to take walks etc, and should be kept that way. We have enough private developments and shopping centres already. They are purely being greedy. |
| |
| Rowland Glanville | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:30:24 UTC I am strongly against development of any sort in public open spaces. Sea Point is one of few central locations where you can walk next to and experience the smell and sounds of the Sea, long may it remain so. |

| Angie | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:30:21 UTC People don't be daft. How many nice places are there that you don't have to spend oodels of money at never mind wreaking the scenery. |

| Shaheen Pansari | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:19:20 UTC I'm dead against the proposed development ... slowly but surely we'll be overrun by concrete in this beautiful city of ours. Let's leave the open spaces for the future generations to enjoy as we did and still do ! |

| Hanlie van Niekerk | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:10:25 UTC Public open space belongs to the people - many coastal towns are being robbed of their natural beauty and ambience by development. See... Knysna, Sedgefield and Plettenberg Bay. |

| Richard Shacksnovis | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 16:00:30 UTC How dare government steamroller public spacing for their own greed and infinite stupidity, as if the 2010 stadium is not already a total white elephant. |

| Justin | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 15:55:58 UTC The Pavilion should be left as is. It's the spot many people take their Sunday drives to and around school holidays and the festive season its especially full with locals and tourists alike. Many people who live in its locality use it for running/walking purposes. Leave it be. |

| Wayne Dunn | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 15:54:41 UTC I run along the Sea Point beach front on a regular basis and use the pool for training on occasion. Its a hive of activity affording the community a healthy alternative to shopping malls. A place to get out into the fresh air and enjoy what Cape Town has to offer thats FREE and accessible for all its citizens and visitors |

| SHeperd Biniza | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 15:52:39 UTC This is so not on! We like using this commodity for its open space. Please do not condense it because right next to it, you'll see an informal settlement coming up. |

| |
| Lizette | Signed on: Tue 22 Jan 2008 15:44:51 UTC Even though I don't live in the area, I think that as many natural public spaces in and around Cape Town should be kept alive. Cape Town surely does not need any more shopping facilities or concreted areas. Seaside should remain seaside around the Cape and the country. |
