| Andries du Toit | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 18:50:58 UTC The Seapoint seafront is a public resource that should be open to all Cape Town's people. At the moment it is a democratic, open space where people of all walks can come together. The open vista to the sea, which will be obscured by the proposed development, is a major asset. We don't need another mall! |

| Riki Geard | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 17:57:24 UTC The Seapoint promenade is a sacred place for locals and tourists to enjoy the beauty of our beachfront by walking their dogs, jogging, power walking, pushing their baby buggies or just sitting quietly on the benches. Taking that away from us would be an absolute shame! |

| marrin hansen | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 17:18:56 UTC It would be a total disaster if you would build a shopping mall etc. on the beach promenade. Daily we go there for a walk and enjoy the open space very much. we disapprove the rezoning stongly. |
| |
| A Cibrario | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 17:08:16 UTC Our public area should not be taken away from us for the sole purpose of enriching someone from the private sector. Other areas are in more need of development and nature should be cherished. Would you build a hotel in a rainforest, just because it is beautiful there? The mere fact that it is unspoilt, makes it beautiful - as it is also in this case. Leave the promanade alone for residents and holiday makers alike, to continue enjoying as they have been... |
| |
| Lorinda van Niekerk | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 16:48:43 UTC We run on the promenade every morning, enjoying the sea and the fresh air. That is how it should stay!!! |
| |
| Estelle van Niekerk | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 16:43:33 UTC It would be a shame if this area would be rezoned. I use it almost everyday to jog, walk or just escape from city hustle and bustle. |

| Richard Bryant | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 16:01:51 UTC As a principle I am not against development. However, it is a very dangerous prescident to allow development of existing public open space, particularly one which has a long history of being enjoyed by all walks of life. |

| Maré Norval | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 15:34:03 UTC I think it is the most horrible idea ! There are so many other areas where shopping centres can be erected ! Keep out beautiful beach area as is. It is after all a pleasant place for all ! |

| |
| Pete Ethelston | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 15:30:44 UTC My family walk this promenade daily and given that we lift in an apartment this green belt is the only garden that they have. We love the way it is shared with all races and is one of the few places in the areas where all cultures really mix. |

| Ian Woodiwiss | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 15:28:03 UTC I'm appalled to hear that this tasteless subject has again reared it's head, and find the governmental bodies to be lax in supporting public opinion, a position that they were voted-in to do. Is all politics about money alone? |
| |
| Beverley Cooper | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 15:27:48 UTC I think it is outrageous to allow development along the one uninterrupted promenade available to the public. Visitors have said that it is reminiscent of the beautiful promenade in Nice which has never been threatened by developers as the French will not stand for it. |

| Jacques | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 15:21:12 UTC These devlopments should NOT be allowed. These areas should be kept as they are. Do NOT succumb to undue presure and financial gain |
