| Chris Ackermann | Signed on: Mon 21 Jan 2008 08:12:19 UTC I am concerned about the lack of transparency and apprent reversal of decisions in this process. We have seen too many instances of public office decisionmaking that have been influenced by vested interests! Setting a precedent for the rezoning of public open space will be detrimental to the quality of life of the SA public in the longer run. |

| laurent bayard | Signed on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 23:27:05 UTC i ve lived in cape town for 3 years and sea point has that riviera feel to it,and that this is what makes it so attractive to tourists or anyone really...if anything that has charactere and history is removed, this country won t have any interest and people will go else where. |

| adrienne katz | Signed on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 23:05:56 UTC The loss of shared communal space will be felt by a wide range of people whereas the development will block the view and serve only those who can afford it. In turn it will become a precedent paving the way for high rise developments on the beachfront. |

| Enzo Raffa | Signed on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 22:12:26 UTC I go to Cape Town a couple times a year and one place that I regard as a Breath of fresh air, is the Promenade in Sea-Point. Save the Promenade. |

| aron gersh | Signed on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 22:07:24 UTC I TOTALLY support this initiative. High Capitalism will destroy the world. One day we will learn that we cannot eat money and that as much wilderness as we possibly can have will be the thing that makes us the richest people in the world! |

| Gray Robertson | Signed on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 21:29:05 UTC Public, not private, facilities and spaces are made by a culture and make a culture. In a country as divided and diverse as ours, it is critical we do not sell off these spaces that enable our cultures to grow and evolve. |

| M. Mulholland | Signed on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 18:56:53 UTC The open public space is used by young and old each weekend and is a valuable asset to the whole of Cape Town - it is our Central Park. On this rocky coastline there is nowhere else for people to swim and the pool is a necessity for residents who wish to swim - as well as all the non-residents who make use of it. |

| Pam Christie | Signed on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 18:32:26 UTC Please leave this glorious space open to all. It\'s part of our history, and for many people it\'s the most accessible sea front available. The Sea Point Seafront is a part of every Capetonians life and thus fondest memories and should be preserved for future generations to enjoy. The \"greed factor\" has become very destructive. |
